The world definitely doesn’t need more bystanders, and at Champion, we believe in giving our students the opportunity to rise from passivity and take decisive action to improve their world. That’s the mission of our Student Government Association. The Association consists of eight offices: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and one representative from each class (freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior).
Students must fulfill certain character requirements to be allowed to run for office, and campaigning begins with the fall semester. The elected students hold their posts for an entire year, and during their tenure, they have the opportunity to dramatically influence the direction of the school. The SGA is involved in planning upcoming activities, representing the student body to the administration, and even fundraising. Most importantly, however, the SGA allows students to hone their leadership skills while serving as role models to their peers.
