The following is the updated CCC Covid-19 protocol from the Office of the Executive Vice President.
On behalf of President Capaci of Champion Christian College, it is our priority to ensure the safety and well-being of all who take part in our campus environment. In lieu of the COVID-19 guidelines set forth by the CDC & Arkansas Department of Health, we are both aware of the disbursed information and will make available measures towards health safety on campus in the following ways:
Exposure (Student Protocol): If a student is exposed to a positive COVID case, let it be known that Champion Christian College recognizes a COVID-19 case as “positive” in that the infected person was tested by a medical facility recognized by the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH). Champion Christian College does NOTidentify a person as “COVID-positive” if a student says he or she has been exposed to such a person that “seems” like he or she has the symptoms of COVID-19 but has not been officially tested.
Thus, if a student is genuinely exposed to a confirmed ADH positive case, he or she is to inform the VP of Academic Affairs with consent to quarantine. Once granted, the date of last exposure is confirmed with the VP of Academic Affairs and the quarantine period for the exposed student is to begin from that date and continue for four consecutive days. This means an exposed student is given a total of 5 days to quarantine; all 5 days will be deemed excused absences.
For example, if a student is exposed on a Saturday to someone who tests ADH positive for Covid-19, a 5-day quarantine would consist of Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If a student is not showing any symptoms of Covid-19 by the end of Wednesday, he or she is expected to return to campus classes on Thursday.
However, if a student at any time begins showing symptoms of COVID-19 within the 5-day quarantine period, he or she is encouraged to get tested from a medical facility. If the test is COVID-19 positive, the student is to quarantine according to doctor’s orders and provide proof of the doctor’s excuse to the VP of Academic Affairs. Per the doctor’s excuse, any additional days extending beyond the 5-day quarantine period will be rendered as excused absences.
Moreover, regardless of the undeterminable quarantine period, the student is responsible to maintain both communication with each classroom instructor for which the student is enrolled in such classes and course work that is being missed due to the quarantine period.
Exposure (Employee Protocol): If an employee is exposed to a positive COVID case, let it be known that Champion Christian College recognizes a COVID-19 case as “positive” in that the infected person was tested by a medical facility recognized by the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH). Champion Christian College does NOTidentify a person as “COVID-positive” if an employee says he or she has been exposed to such a person that “seems” like he or she has the symptoms of COVID-19 but has not been officially tested.
Thus, if an employee is genuinely exposed to a confirmed ADH positive case, he or she is to inform the Executive Vice President with consent to quarantine. Once granted, the date of last exposure is confirmed with the Executive Vice President and the quarantine period for the exposed employee is to begin from that date and continue for four consecutive days. This means an exposed employee is given a total of 5 days to quarantine; all 5 days will be deemed sick leave.
For example, if an employee is exposed on a Saturday to someone who tests ADH positive for Covid-19, a 5-day quarantine would consist of Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If an employee is not showing any symptoms of Covid-19 by the end of Wednesday, he or she is expected to return to campus on Thursday.
However, if an employee at any time begins showing symptoms of COVID-19 within the 5-day quarantine period, he or she is encouraged to get tested from a medical facility. If the test is COVID-19 positive, the employee is to quarantine according to doctor’s orders and provide proof of the doctor’s excuse to the Executive Vice President. Per the doctor’s excuse, any additional days extending beyond the 5-day quarantine period will be rendered as sick leave.
Moreover, regardless of the undeterminable quarantine period, the employee is responsible to maintain communication with the Executive Vice President, and the employee’s supervisor in lieu of the Champion Departmental Structure. Additionally, if by chance the employee is a faculty instructor, he or she is to also maintain communication with the students he or she teaches in the bounds of the course syllabus throughout the duration of the quarantine period.
Final Note: With these measures in place respectfully for one another, we are excited to begin Student Life campus activities! Stay posted for upcoming events. Chapel services are ready to kick off with incredible guest speakers.
