Champion Christian College is thankful to be in a wonderful season of growth and expansion. We are eagerly awaiting for the Fall 2019 arrival of the largest enrollment here at Champion in the last seven years. There have been many improvements throughout the campus of CCC. Most of our dormitory has been freshly painted, and our education building has been newly remodeled.
Our mission here at Champion is to teach and to train regenerated servant leaders to excel spiritually, intellectually, and practically in professional ministries and selected lay vocations. Our objective is for every student to clearly understand the meaning and the importance of our mission. Our mission is foundational to who we are and what we do; and so nothing excites us more than training the next generation of Champions for Jesus Christ.
Champion is also welcoming many new staff, faculty, and coaches to our campus. Our men’s basketball team has recently been taken over by Coach Leonard Epps. Coach Epps brings experience and leadership to the athletic department. Our women’s basketball program is being led by Coach DeAnthony Ellison. Coach Ellison brings six years of coaching experience and an extensive amount of time as a dedicated athlete. We are excited about launching our women’s basketball program this year under his leadership. Another very important new addition to our administration is our Executive Vice President, Dr. Jeremy Horton. Dr. Horton received his bachelor’s degree from Henderson State University and both his master’s and doctorate from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary. We are also blessed to welcome many new faculty members to our excellent teaching team here at Champion.
Recently, someone asked me this question–”Where would you like to see Champion Christian College in ten years?” Simply put, I would like to see Champion overtaken by blessing. Fourteen years ago, Champion Baptist College started; and four years ago, our name changed to Champion Christian College, and we began an aggressive strategic plan focused on national accreditation and reaching our highest potential for God’s glory. Every element of our college is rooted in a vision that seeks to empower every student, faculty, and staff member to reach their highest potential for God’s glory. The greatest way to be blessed is to bless. Success is not measured by what you achieve but Who you serve. So we are excited at Champion Christian College to invest our lives into empowering others to do it all for the glory of God.
If there’s any way I can serve you, please let me know. I’m looking forward to a great year.
