Champion Christian College Retires Brandon Likins’ Jersey: A Legacy of Excellence

Champion Christian College is proud to honor one of its greatest athletes, Brandon Likins, by retiring his jersey—an achievement reserved for the most extraordinary players in our school’s history. Likins, a dominant force on the court, left an unforgettable legacy in Champion’s basketball program, setting records that may never be broken.

A Record-Breaking Career

Brandon Likins rewrote the record books during his time at Champion, finishing his career as the all-time leader in three major statistical categories:

  • 3,199 career points – Most in school history
  • 1,758 rebounds – Most in school history
  • 267 blocked shots – Most in school history

To put these numbers into perspective, they represent a level of dominance rarely seen in collegiate athletics. His ability to score, rebound, and protect the rim made him a nightmare for opposing teams and a cornerstone of Champion’s basketball success.

National Recognition & Championship Pedigree

Likins' incredible talent did not go unnoticed. He was a three-time 1st Team All-American, recognized as one of the top five players in the country as voted by coaches. His excellence reached its peak when he was named National Player of the Year. In 2010, he helped lead Champion to a National Championship, cementing his place in school history as both an elite individual talent and a proven winner.

A Well-Deserved Honor

With his jersey now retired, Likins joins an exclusive club alongside James Manthe, the only other men's basketball player in Champion history to receive this prestigious honor. His name and number will forever hang in the rafters as a reminder of the standard of excellence he set for future generations of Tigers.

A New Chapter: Serving the Community

After his legendary basketball career, Likins carried his leadership and work ethic into law enforcement. He has served as a detective in the Little Rock Police Department for nearly seven years and aspires to join the narcotics task force in the future. His dedication to making a difference in the community reflects the same tenacity and commitment he displayed on the court.

A Champion On and Off the Court

Brandon Likins embodies what it means to be a Champion. His story is one of perseverance, excellence, and service—qualities that define the mission of Champion Christian College. We are honored to celebrate his accomplishments and look forward to seeing the impact he continues to make in his career and beyond.

Congratulations, Brandon, on an incredible career and well-earned recognition!
