Champion Christian College is proud to highlight the incredible accomplishments of one of our alumni, Elijah Kemp, JD. A recent law school graduate and an attorney, Kemp exemplifies the values of dedication, hard work, and faith that Champion seeks to instill in its students.

The Journey to Becoming an AttorneyKemp participated in the ceremonial "attorney oath" requirement about two years ago, marking a pivotal moment in his legal career. Administered by Judge Ohm, the oath was a prerequisite for receiving his attorney’s license, officially granting Kemp the ability to practice law.

Kemp has joined the prestigious law firm of Rainwater, Holt & Sexton, where he now specializes in injury law. His practice focuses on helping individuals navigate legal matters related to personal injury cases.

Kemp’s legal journey began after earning his degree from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law. There, he honed his skills and prepared himself for the multifaceted challenges of the legal profession.

The Role of Champion in His SuccessReflecting on his time at Champion Christian College, Kemp recognizes the profound impact it had on his path to success. “My time at Champion was my first step after graduating high school,” he shared. “Champion taught me how to take on more responsibility. For the first time in my life, I had to pay my own bills. Working a job to pay for school taught me great work ethic and responsibility.”

Kemp’s experiences at Champion extended beyond personal growth. With a clear goal of practicing law, he benefited from the college’s community resources, including interactions with notable legal professionals such as Judge Ohm, Phillip Clay, and Tamera Barrett. The latter two even served as instructors at Champion while practicing law in Garland County, providing invaluable insight and mentorship.

He also emphasized Champion’s unique spiritual environment as a foundational element of his career preparation. “Champion is a good place for students to take their first steps toward their career in an environment that will spiritually equip you for a world that will try to convince you that Christianity should remain out of your professional career,” Kemp said. “I am very grateful that I chose to take my first steps at Champion Christian College.”

Looking AheadKemp’s inspiring journey serves as a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and a strong educational foundation. Champion Christian College celebrates his accomplishments and is excited to see how he continues to make a difference in his community and beyond.

Congratulations, Elijah Kemp, JD, on this significant milestone! Your Champion family is proud of you.
