The following is a message from Dr. Eric Capaci, President of Champion Christian College:
We are officially entering my favorite time of the year! I love the Thanksgiving holiday; and I am so grateful for Champion Christian College, its students, its staff, its faculty, and the opportunity we have to live life together. I believe an attitude of gratitude is the most important trait to be a Champion for Christ. To have an attitude of gratitude is to have a mindset that is focused, positive, and determined to be thankful every day of one’s life. I have found that one of the great detriments to gratitude is an unwillingness to pay attention to all that God has done for us. It is truly amazing how good God has been to each and every one of us!
I want to take time to specifically thank God for four things:
1. I am thankful for the PEOPLE God has placed in my life.
From day one, our lives have been filled with people who have invested in our lives, people who have given their time, instruction, interest, and love. I’m very thankful for the people God has placed here at Champion Christian College, either on our college campus or our virtual campus. We are so blessed to be learning together, not just book knowledge, but also knowledge from the Word of God. I’m thankful for each and every one of our students, and I’m excited about the opportunity God has given me to pour into their lives.
2. I am thankful for the PROVISION God has given us.
The food I eat, the clothes I wear, the house I call home, the bed I sleep in, America, my church family, my Champion college family–may we not take these things for granted. God has provided Champion with an incredible campus and a wonderful college family to be thankful for.
3. I am thankful for God’s PROTECTION.
I am thankful, today, that God watches and cares over each and everyone of us. Although I understand that life has problems and they are real, I also accept the fact that God’s protection is real. The Bible says in Psalms 61:3, “For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.”
4. I am thankful for God’s POWER.
It takes the power of fuel to get a car to run; it takes the power of electricity to get lights to turn on; it takes the power of food to keep our bodies going; and it takes the power of God to be able to live a life that reaches its full potential. I love Philippians 4:13 which reminds us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. May we all remember that it is the power of God that will keep us going for Him and living for Him.
Let me challenge all of us to do a check on our attitude of gratitude and to determine to be thankful for all that God has done and is doing in our lives. Remember, it takes an attitude of gratitude to be a Champion for Christ!
